Curtains!!

I have decided that I will be trying to post a new entry every other day.  That way, its not TOO much to ask of myself, but I can post lots of fun things!  I also get really annoyed when I find a blog I love and they only post randomly and I don't know when I will see a new post, so there you go: every other day.  And you now have my permission to yell at me if I don't get you new posts!

Now to the topic of the day: I'm excited about something and want to share: I have a design idea for my bedroom next year!!!

Let me start with the backstory.  My freshman year, in the dorm, I had a hot pink/zebra print theme

This was my bedding (source)

And this year, I have a hot pink/white bed set (couldn't find a picture of it - I don't think they sell it anymore).  I have pink, pink and white patterned, and black sheets, so I didn't really change the theme when I moved into an apartment and got new bedding (still the same colors) and I was looking to change it up a bit for my new apartment. One problem, I can't afford new bedding! So I had to stick with the hot pink/white bedding (don't get me wrong, I still love this bedding, but I just wanted a change).

Well, thinking about it, I realized all my bedroom furniture is brown! Also, the only black in my bedroom were the curtains and one sheet set. So, for next year black is out of my bedroom and brown is in! I will be looking for brown sheets on sale (I like having 3 sets of sheets to rotate between) and already managed to find new curtains! I was looking for something at bed bath and beyond and saw these:

How perfect!!!

Pretty brown curtains! I grabbed 2 panels and headed to the check out (after discovering that bed bath and beyond does not carry what I was actually looking for).  What I go to the register, the cashier asked ME what other colors there were because of this:

Was 14.99 Now 7.99 (marked out) actually 4.99!

That's right: $10 for a new set of curtains!!! Now I could have made curtains for cheaper if I got fabric on sale and such, but they would not be the nice fabric these are and would require me to buy a new color of thread (I'm trying to see how long I can survive only owning black and white thread). Also, sometimes you just don't have the time to make EVERYTHING so a good sale on something is a wonderful thing!

Don't worry, I will not just be throwing out the black curtains in my current bedroom. I love them! They are sheer and have circles and... ok just look at them

Pretty right? (source)

My craft/office/sitting room next year will be pink and black and those curtains will be put in there. And I already have an idea what I might do with the black sheets (hint: I've been having problems finding a black table cloth)

A side note, if I worked at bed bath and beyond, I would ALWAYS know how much everything cost, what was on sale, and what to keep an eye on for a price drop, so its probably a good thing I don't work there or I'd be even more broke!

Do you think switching black for brown will make a huge difference in my room? Have you ever just wanted to change things up a bit?
